STUDENT MENTORSHIPS AND INTERNSHIPS

MUSE Virtual is dedicated to ensuring that each student learns in a unique way. We offer mentorships and internships for all students — Elementary through High School.

Academics - Agricultural Internships - MUSE Virtual School

Elementary – Kindergarten through 6th Grade
Through the Elementary journey, students begin to explore the process of mentorship. They are encouraged through the support of their teachers to reach out to mentors each semester. Mentorship can be present in a variety of ways for our K-6th graders.

Through Internal mentorship, Specialists and other MUSE teachers support students on a one to one basis. Friends and families of MUSE can become mentors representing/sharing their own passions or careers. We are also able to connect students to experts in specific fields.

Students lean into their teachers to help support them in making a connection with a mentor that matches their passion or academic projects. Introductions begin through phone calls or zoom chats, then can grow into in-person conversations.

All students are encouraged and guided to find internships and that relate to their passion or academic projects.

Middle School – 7th Grade & 8th Grade
Middle School students are encouraged to find mentors, internships outside of the MUSE Community, as related to their passion projects and topics. These relationships are guided by their advisors with checkpoints along the way, each semester, so these experiences can be shared within their Culmination presentation.

MUSE Virtual Students are encouraged and guided to find internships and volunteer opportunities that relate to the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals and Passion Project topics.

High School – 9th Grade through 12th Grade
High School Students are encouraged to find mentors, internships outside of the MUSE Community, as related to their passion projects and topics. These relationships are guided by their advisors with checkpoints along the way, each semester, so these experiences can be shared in Culmination presentations. As with middle school students, highschoolers are encouraged and guided to find internships and volunteer opportunities that relate to the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals and Passion Project topics.

Passion Experiences for MUSE Virtual High School students: Students experience and enrich their passion studies through internships, shadowing, interviewing, and seeking a mentor/mentee relationship. MUSE advisors and our Internship Coordinator oversee all elements of a students internship, so that this relationship and real world experience is assessed and then documented in our Blueprint. These opportunities are incorporated into students’ overall grading for the semester and often contribute to deeper learning, college interests and future post-MUSE Planning.
