Equestrian Students

At MUSE Virtual School, we understand the unique demands student athletes face—especially equestrian athletes whose training and competition schedules often require flexibility without sacrificing academic excellence. Our personalized, passion-based learning model allows riders to balance rigorous coursework with time in the arena, ensuring they stay on track academically while pursuing their athletic goals at the highest level. With small class sizes, live teacher interaction, and a curriculum designed to adapt around training and travel, MUSE Virtual provides equestrian athletes with the freedom to excel in both their sport and their education.

If you go to a good public school, you learn how to play the game. If you go to a good private school, you learn how to win the game. If you attend MUSE, you change the game.

Academic Excellence & Thoughtful Planning

At MUSE Virtual, academic rigor and personalized learning are not opposites—they are partners. From day one, students engage with a tailored Individualized Learning Plan developed in partnership with families and faculty, one that honors learning style, pace, and intellectual ambition.

Our approach to academic planning goes deeper: we identify whether each student is auditory, visual, kinesthetic—or even a blend—and adjust curricular delivery accordingly. This ensures that your equestrian athlete can stay current even on the road, without “catch-up” weeks piling up during show seasons.

MUSE’s curriculum is WASC-accredited and benchmarked to high academic standards—delivered with the flexibility and structure to match a demanding athletic schedule. We have certified courses that meet the requirements for the University of California A-G course list.  Our courses are also approved by NCAA for student athletes looking to meet their core course requirements.

Post-Secondary Planning that Matches Ambition

Riding can open doors—but long-term success demands strategy. That’s why we offer YOU Prep, our structured college, gap-year, or career planning pathway.

  • In 9th grade, students explore personal identity, strengths, and interests to build a holistic foundation.
  • In 10th grade, we guide them through exploring academic trajectories, summer programs, and professional or experiential pathways.

  • In 11th grade, students dive deep into college research, campus matching, and strategic alignment with their goals.

  • In 12th grade, we support senior-year execution—applications, thesis or culminating projects, essay writing, gap-year plans, life skills, and readiness for “what’s next.”

For a student whose time is split between academics and equestrian goals, YOU Prep ensures the roadmap to the future is clear, coordinated, and intentional.
